Who's Been on the Journey ?

At Sumatra Innovation, we are proud to collaborate with a diverse network of schools, youth organisations, and civic institutions. These partnerships are at the core of everything we do, enabling us to bring high-quality civic education workshops directly into classrooms and lecture halls.

Our partners place their trust in our mission to empower young people. They understand the need to equip the youth with the knowledge and tools to engage with political life and shape their democratic future. Each partner, whether through long-term collaborations, co-created learning experiences, or one-time events, plays a vital role in making our educational programs impactful, inclusive and relevant. We deeply value the support, feedback, and enthusiasm of every actor that joins us on this journey.

As we continue to grow, we remain open to new opportunities, fresh ideas, and ambitious partnerships that align with our vision for a more informed, engaged, and democratic Europe. Together, we make our vision a reality. Join us on this exciting adventure !

  • Thematic of Migration (MIG)

The Institute of Saint Stanislas chose Sumatra Innovation's educational project for its high-school students in 4th grade. On the occasion of their first participation in the European elections, these young people aged over 16 were able to learn about the history of the European Union, its influence, its competences and its main institutions. In order to better guide the students who will be voting in June 2024, the ideals, values and programmes of the various European political groups in relation to migration were presented.

The Institut of Redouté-Peiffer has chosen the training on political sensitisation in Belgium and the following modules:

  • History of Belgium

The Institute of Redouté-Peiffer was interested in covering the differences between a dictatorship and a democracy, and to explore the history and workings of the Belgian democratic system. How did we obtain the right to vote for all men? What about women? Why did Belgium become a federal state? Our interactive timeline of Belgium helps us answer these questions.

2024 being an election year, the school Francisco Ferrer chose Sumatra Innovation for its accounting students. Different types of democratic systems were explained (USA, France and Switzerland) and then compared to the Belgian democratic system. The programmes of the six main French-speaking political parties were also discussed, comparing their positions on economic issues (taxation, employment, unemployment and entrepreneurship).
